I saw it again, and i had missed so much the first time. i long for the days of being 12 again. Doesn't everyone? The movie stand by me is about 4 boys, who were like the cool kids, who take their biggest adventure. THe film is all about the friendship that is shared along the way. Unrtil the very end. There are many hardships that they face through the course of the movie, and how they deal with them. The movie is based on the short story the body, by Stephen king. Though the movie is written by Stephen king, it isn't scary. With an excellent cast, lovable characters, great scenery, whats not to love about stand by me.

I have seen a lot of films in my time (I am a fourteen year old female) but never before have I seen a movie so uplifting and memorable as this film is. It is a dynamic coming-of-age film about 4 young boys who set out to find the body of 12 year old, Ray Brower. The casting was brilliant and the plot was magnificent. Rob Reiner directed this movie beautifully and I'm sure Stephen King was impressed as this was an adaptation of his novella 'The Body. Stand by me is certainly one of the best films I have ever seen. It's a great film, but not only because it's very dramatic. In fact the story that it tells is a great story, that make a great film. It isn't only the story of four boys who are searching the body of a missing boy, but also an important portrait of a genuinely and authentic friendship in 1950's USA. It bind four boys, all in a very abandoned and pitiable condition. No affect. Only this friendship. So, the boys try to find affect in their friends. All need affect but we see especially Gordie. He's the protagonist, a very sensitive boys, who first had a brother who make him happy, then (now) after the death of his brother, he hasn't anyone except his best friends Chris. Chris is abandoned. He hasn't anyone too except his best friend Gordie. I almost think that the research of the body is only the occasion to tell about this extraordinary genuine friendship. Great performance by the cast, finely choice score and good direction add to this film what make it a film you can't miss.
